Trademark Conflict Check
中文

Check your brand name before you build your business

We indexed the USPTO annual trademark register end to end so you can spot an obvious conflict in seconds. Informational only - not legal advice.

What this tool actually checks

Enter a brand or product name and we look for exact names, names sharing the same prefix, and near-spellings. Each result shows the serial number, registration number, owner, Nice class, filing and registration dates, current status code and the date that status was recorded.

Every result links to the official record on the USPTO's Trademark Status & Document Retrieval (TSDR) system, so you can verify the underlying document yourself.

How to read the risk label

A risk label is a triage signal based on name similarity, not a legal conclusion. Trademark refusal turns on likelihood of confusion, which also depends on relatedness of goods and services, channels of trade, and the strength of the earlier mark.

Treat a High label as a reason to look closer or talk to a trademark attorney, not as a verdict. A Lower label is not a clearance opinion.

  • Exact and prefix matches are shown first, with their current live/dead status.
  • Similar-name results are ranked by edit distance and shared n-grams.
  • Read the full methodology and its known limitations before relying on any label.

Where the data comes from

The index starts from the USPTO Trademark Annual Register (TRTYRAP), which covers 1884 to 31 December 2025 in 91 annual volumes, and merges the daily incremental files (TRTDXFAP) on top of it through 3 November 2026. 13,993,768 case-file entries came from the annual volumes; 4,502,862 searchable live and unknown-status marks are published.

Status codes are classified against the USPTO status definition list, the TM5 standard, and the USPTO status-code reference. All 144 codes observed in the data were audited individually.

FAQ

Is this legal advice?

No. This is an informational search tool, not a legal opinion or a clearance search. Only a qualified trademark attorney can advise on registrability. Always confirm the current status on the official USPTO record.

Does the index include dead and cancelled marks?

Not yet. The publicly searchable index currently covers live and unknown-status marks. Dead and cancelled historical records were parsed but are not yet exposed in search. See data sources for the current scope.

How current is the data?

The index merges the 2025-12-31 annual register with daily incremental files through 2026-11-03. The merge runs as an off-line job that is started by hand, so the newest few days can be missing. The data source page states the exact build date.

Does a similar name mean I cannot use mine?

No. Similarity is only one factor. Likelihood of confusion also depends on the relatedness of the goods or services, trade channels, and how distinctive the earlier mark is. Consult a trademark attorney for a real assessment.
